Creative Writing

In the Talent Fiesta held at DPS Mathura Road on 20 October, 2001, DPS Noida won the following prizes:-

In the ‘Tongue-in-cheek’ section, Sangmitra Gupta, XII D won the I position ( individual). The other participants was Aviral.
In the ‘Spin-A-Yarn’ category, Pratik Swarup ( XII D) bagged the II Position ( individual). Monika Jain was the other participant.

Public Speaking

- Shivam Pradhan of class X F got the second prize in hindi debate held in DPS Mathura road on 5 december, 2001.

- First position was won by DPS Noida in 'Talk on-Project' in 'Expressions', Bal Bharti Ppublic School, Brij Vihar held on 9, 10 nov., 2001

- First position was won by Tripti Arya and Neha Bhasin in english debate held at DPS Noida in Wave-Inter School competition in nov. 2001

- Overall team trophy was bagged by DPS Noida in an english debate competition organized by Vishwa Bharti School on feb. 6, 2002

Eventus Maximus - an inter -school competition was organised at DPS R.K. Puram on 23rd, 24th & 25th of August 2001. DPS Noida bagged the following prizes:

In the English Debate Competition. Tripty Arya won the best speaker’s trophy. Akshat Nauriyal & Joymini ( interjector ) were the other participants.
In the Impromptu Speech Competition, both Tripty Arya ( XII B) & Neha Bhasin ( XII G) bagged the first Position as speakers.
The overall Public Speaking Trophy was thus won by DPS Noida.

The team of the DPS Noida participated in Ecofest 2001, an Economic Symposium organised by DPS Mathura Road on 20 August 2001. The prizes won are as follows:-

The team comprising Aparna Satya as speaker & Amit Chug and Rohan Dheman as interjectors was awarded the 3rd Position in Declamation Competition.
The team comprising Dhruv Khosla, Pallavi Dhodi, Sanchita & Sujeet Kulkanrni also won the 3rd Position in the ‘Ad-MAD’ contest.
DPS Noida bagged the Overall Rolling Trophy.
A lion Club inter -School Hindi Debate was held in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Noida on 21 September, 2001. Husual Kaur of class XI won the 1st Position & Ankita Sharma of class XI got the III prize. 12 schools of Noida had participated and DPS Noida bagged the Overall Trophy.
In the Talent Fiesta held at DPS Mathura Road on 20 October, 2001, DPS Noida won the I position in Debate ( Middle School). Abhimanya G.Jain won II Individual Position. The other Participants were Olina Banerjee and Gazal Gulati.

Music and Dance

In the group Dance Competition held as a part of Event us Maximus - an inter-school competition hosted by DPS R.K.Puram on the 23rd, 24th & 25th of August 2001, DPS R. K. Puram bagged the 1 position. The participants were: Jasmine, lusha, Meenal, Chetna, Ankita, Prashant, Nikhil, Rakshit, Unmesh & Nandita of Class XII.
The DPS Noida School band performed in the Western Music Competition at Eventus Maximus and bagged the III position in the Fiercely contested event. The members of the band are : Sujeet Kulkarni, Parikshit, Mallika, Shubhangi, Charu, Ishita, Akshat, Akash & Sumant.
Amrita Dutta, IX F & Dipali Mittal, VI won the first prize in classical dance competition at DPS Greater Noida on
January 25, 2002
Overall trophy was bagged by DPS Noida in an Inter School Group Song competition held at Army Public School, Noida on 29 Nov. 2001
First position was won by DPS Noida in song competition held at DPS Noida in Wave-Inter School Competition, in Nov. 2001
Second position was won by DPS Noida in acting masala held at DPS Noida in Wave-Inter School Competition.

An inter-school Music Competition was held at Mount St.mary’s School on 20 October, 2001. DPS Noida bagged the following prizes:-

Sports

In the 2nd Gautam Budh Nagar District Basketball Championship held at Bal Bharti School from 10 to 16 April, 2001. DPS Noida was awarded the Overall Championship.
Mini boys & Girls - championship trophies won by both boys & Girls ( Under 16 yrs.)
Youth & Junior Girls - Runners up in both groups.
Junior Boys - Championship Trophy
Sanjana Kapur & Shruti Dewan of Sub- Junior Girls team of DPS Noida bagged the III position in the nationals in the awards ceremony held by C.B.S.E on 1st May.
Sanjana Kapur has qualified for semi - finals in Lawn Tennis in under 16 yrs. Group & shall play in the Naitonals to be held at Chennai & Bangalore.
DPS Noida participated in the Open Handball Tournament orgnised by Gautam Budh Nagar on 13th & 15th Aug., 2001. Junior Girls were the winners & Junior Boys were runners up.
18 Swimmers of DPS Noida represented CBSE East Zone in the National Swimming Championship held at Vijayawada from 30th Sept. to 2nd Oct.2001.
Tripti Pal won the III Position in 100 m Breast Stroke in under 14 yrs. Group.
Gaurav Sareen won the II Position in 50 m Back Stroke in under 11 yrs. Group.
In Addition, Girls under 14 yrs. Won Silver Medal in both the Relays.
DPS Noida participated in the 4th Ashish Kanwar Memorial Tournament held at DPS R.K.Puram from 8th to 17th Oct., 2001 and bagged the III position.
The DPS Noida team broke the record of 4 yrs & made the all time highest score.
Varun Chopra won the Man of the Match Award. Arjun Gulati & Anirudh Singhal also performed well.
Saurabh Kapoor of Class VI bagged the 3rd place in Speed Skating held at Meerut and got a Bronze Medal.
Saurabh Kapoor of Class VI won the gold medal in special skating in Ghazibad district rolling competition held on 9 december 2001.
Uttama Milaviya, Class VII won gold medal in 300 mts. speed skating in the Xth Delhi Open Ininter School Roller Skating Championship held from 29 - 31 October, 2001.
Anmil Vijay, Class V won silver medal in artistic skating in the Xth Delhi open inter school roller skating
championship held from 29 - 31 October, 2001.
Anmil Vijay, Class V won silver medal in speed skating in the invitational Delhi state roller skating (speed)
championship held at Poorvi Delhi Khel Parisar, Tahirpur, Delhi.
Saurabh Kapoor won silver medal in artistic skating and silver medal in speed skating.
Rohan Dheman won silver medal in 100 mts. in the east zone CBSE athletic meet held from 7 - 9 Nov., 2001 at Ghaziabad.
Championship trophy was bagged by DPS Noida girls under 14 yrs. and boys under 14 yrs. in the east zone cbse athletic meet held at Shardin Public School, Muzaffarnagar from 1 - 3 Nov., 2001
First position was won by DPS Noida girls under 16 yrs. and boys under 16 yrs. in the east zone cbse athletic meet held at Shardin Public School, Muzaffarnagar from 1 - 3 Nov., 2001
First position was won by DPS Noida boys under 19 yrs. and second position by girls under 19 yrs. in the east zone cbse athletic meet held at Shardin Public School, Muzaffarnagar from 1 - 3 Nov., 2001
Sanjana Kapoor, class vii won the semi finals in all india tennis ranking tournament held at amritsar from 29 - 3 Nov., 2001
Shikhar Kapoor won the runners up (silver trophy) jr. tennis championship 2001 in under 10 yrs. sponsored by hero honda held at huda, Gymkhana and won a cash prize of rs. 1000/-
Eklavya Dwivedi, Class VIIIi has been selected to represent up state cricket team (under 14 yrs.)

ART

In the inter-school Art & Craft Competition held on 20 July, 2001 at Birla Vidya Niketan, Niloy Kundu ( VI C ) got the I position & Shina Gulati ( Vi D ) got the III position.
I the 6th Annual Inter -school Painting competition organised by Noida Catholic Yuma Sang at Assisi Convent, Noida, Siddhant Kar ( V C ) got the I position.
Niloy Kundu ( Vi C) bagged the 3rd Prize in the Find Art Category held during Eventus Maximus held at DPS, R.K.Puram.
In the inter-school Art Contest organised by Times of India on 14th Oct, 2001 DPS Noida won the following prizes.
- Shina Gulati ( VI D) won the 1st Position.
- Priyanjan Ghosh ( IV E) won the 1st Position.
- Supratin Chakroborty (IV E) won the 3rd Position.
- Anmol Gulati ( IV F) won the consolation prize.
An inter-school Poster Competition was held at Vishwa Bharti Public School, Noida on 19th Oct. 2001 and Amrita Datar ( VIII F) won the III position.
First & second position and consolation prize was won by DPS Noida in 'On the spot painting competition 'Expressions', Bal Bharti Public School, Brij Vihar held on 9, 10 nov., 2001
Trophy and cash prize of rs. 10000 was bagged by DPS Noida in maths and science exam held by mindzones.com on 20 october 2001, 40 schools of delhi and outside participated.

Dramatics

In the Talent Fiesta held at DPS Mathura Road, DPS Noida won the I position in the Street Play Competition. The participants were :Sagar Chitkara, Divya Ramesh, Manu Sharma & Rubhina Singh, supported by Aviral, Dhirti, Pratik & Sanmitra.

Quizzing

In the Quiz hosted by DPS Vasundhara, DPS Noida won the I position. The team comprised Arnab Dutta (V A) & Varun Chakraborty ( V D).
In the talent Fiesta hosted by DPS Mathura Road on 20 Oct. 2001, the Sr. Quiz Team from our school bagged the II position. The team members were Chaitanya Biswas, Rajat Sharma & Chaitanya Ramachandran.
An inter - school Computer Symposium was organised by Mt.ST. Mary’s School on 27 August, 2001 in which our school bagged the overall Trophy.
DPS Noida won the I prize in Junior Quiz. The participants were Prasoon Mishra, Ishita Kapoor & Aditya Kalsi.
DPS Noida also bagged the III Position in Senior Quiz, C++ Programming & Computer Symposium. The Participants were Satya Bhan, Abhinav Birla, Akshat Nauriyal, Abhinav Singhal, Ashish Gupta & Priyank Jain.
First position was bagged by DPS Noida in Inter-School quiz at Amity International School, Noida on 16 jan, 2002

Academics

In the international Assessment for schools which was held in No., 2000 conducted by University of South Wales, Australia, the following students scored above 95%:
Kartikeya Dar ( VI ), Akshit Kwatra (VI), Varun Verma (X)
In the same exam ,Vipul Naik of class X was the only students to score 100% in Computer Science, Maths & Science from North India.

INTEL COMPUTER TRAINING FOR TEACHERS

All Middle School and Senior School Teachers completed their Intel Training Programme conducted in three batches. DPS Noida can now boast of having all teachers computer savvy.
